A meeting with nature: Meeting with the Alsatian Stork

Ungersheim

12/07/2026

The white stork, emblem of Alsace, experienced a dramatic decline in the 1970s, coming close to extinction. Thanks to the commitment and hard work of enthusiasts, it has made a strong comeback and now once again populates the skies of Alsace.

A veritable ‘stork village’, the Écomusée d'Alsace has the largest colony in the region! In June, nesting is in full swing: it's the perfect opportunity to observe this beautiful wading bird. During this guided tour, observe the stork chicks and their parents, listen to their famous squawks... and discover the secrets of this beautiful wading bird.

Your reservation ticket also gives you access to the museum for the day and the activities on offer. (Only available in french - reservation obligatory)
